Kerala PSC 12th level exam | Exam pattern | Eligibility criteria |Syllabus | Cut off mark

  • 12th level exams are conducted for more than 75 posts like Typist Clerk, Beat Forest Officer, Civil Excise Trainee, Data Entry Operator, Fire and Rescue Officer, Women Civil Excise Officer, Confidential Assistant.
  • Candidates can apply for more than one category through this 12th level exam pattern.

Eligibility criteria

  • Age – The age limit is the first criteria that a candidate has to fulfill and it is different for all the posts mentioned by the commission on their official notification.

  • The candidates belonging to the reserved quota will be eligible to avail the age relaxations mentioned for their category for a specific post.

  • Nationality – Should be a citizen of India, should belong to the domicile of Kerala
  • Number of attempts – According to the commission, there is no bar on the number of attempts for the candidates.
  • Qualification-The candidates applying to any of the posts as mentioned in the official notification released by the commission have to pass class 12th or equivalent examination from any of the state or central board.

Physical Standards (Civil Excise Officer, Fireman, Beat Police Officer, Assistant Police Constable)

Physical Qualification 

  • The chest measurement of the candidates must not be less than 81 cm with an expansion of 5 cm.
  • The height of the candidate should not be less than 165 cm for the General candidate while the same should be 160 cm for the reserved category.

Endurance Test 

  • The candidates applying for the Fireman should be proficient in swimming and must complete a 50m swim in 2 minutes. 
  • While a running test will be applicable for other posts in which the male candidate has to complete the run of 2 km in 13 minutes.

Exam Pattern:

Exam will be conducted in two stages  

Stage 1:Preliminary Exam 

  • There will be a common preliminary exam for all the post. 
  • The aspirants who have applied for these 12th level exams need to pass common Preliminary Exam to qualify for the Main Exams. 
  • Is an OMR based test 
  • The Prelims Exam consists of 100 questions 
  • The Prelims Exam carries a total of 100 marks. 
  • One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. 
  • 1/3rd mark will be reduced for each wrong answer. 
  • The question paper medium shall be in Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada. 
  • The overall time duration of exam is 1 hour 15 minutes.
